seed_savers_logo_largeSince the spring of 2006, the Powell River Farmers’ Institute has run our local Seedy Saturday, which is a once-a-year occasion for people in our region to get together and swap seeds.

Preparations are underway, for Powell River’s 2009 SEEDY SATURDAY!

Mark your calender for Saturday, March 14, 10:00 am-3:00 p.m. Community Living Place, Cranberry.

Here’s your opportunity to exchange seed with fellow seed-savers in the area. The seed exchange also began expanding last year, into plants, cuttings, tubers etc.

Another day of garden-related workshops are planned at the exchange plus the community information booths.

The Seedy Cafe as usual will provide hot and cold refreshments, soups, sandwiches and desserts, so participants can plan to stay the whole day. More announcements to come, closer to March.

Over 300 people have attended our SEEDY SATURDAY during the event during the past three years.

Plus 50 volunteers contribute their enthusiastic help to make this community event possible.

Hope to see you there! Bring a friend. Heh! Bring two!
